I'm not really a fan of pop-ups... Maybe an alert badge to instead? So that it would not be as intrusive as a pop-up.

From a new player's perspective, the link is not intuitive. And what I had in mind is a hover effect, instead of redirecting into a different page.

Armory = add tabs Upgrades = add help button to show list of upgrades
