Noticed GUA is gone gone
Just noticed GUA is offline now. Domain still registered, but RIP the archives(messy as they were), GREAT amount of KoC lost. Feels bad. Ever wonder how many players have died since you started playing? Guess I should have spent more time in the archives when I had the chance.

Re: Noticed GUA is gone gone
Some threads from GUA are here in the catacombs, what I was able to move across had to be done in copy/paste format. Unfortunately it was way too time consuming to move it all.
The GUA forum was on a major decline with only the KoC section keeping it alive. I tried my best to keep the spam/porn bots off the site but without help from other forum mods and the owner of GUA I was fighting a lost cause. Sucks to have lost it but I did contact Carnage when we moved and also let him know the security of the site was lacking but no response was returned.
For the good of the KoC community we had to move away from GUA and have our own forum, one that we have been able to keep bot free due to the sign up process and active forum moderators here now.
Hopefully Carnage will put GUA back up but I doubt it.

Re: Noticed GUA is gone gone
A new player (me) is curious - What sort of info are we talking about? Role playing stuff? Hall of fame? Old rules? Game history?
---
---
And yes it is sad that were aren't like the long living elves; we all will eventually die; one by one. No pun intended:(
----
And once you reach a certain age it becomes a daily fact when wondering who will be next (and will it be "ME"). So you younger players can now look forward to old age. (Nah, just enjoy your young age and forget about all that old age CRAP!!!)
---
What a morbid thread this is. There:D fixed:)

gua was the forum we used before this one. 15 years of history was there. all our wars and stuff.
look at all the posts and stuff on this forum, and multiply it by 15.

Re: Noticed GUA is gone gone
When the old school gaming sites started to shut their doors, I pirated a version of Adobe acrobat and used it to scan the Dreamcast sections of the sites to archive them in PDF format. At the time It would take weeks for a site. I had to stop at the time because storage wasn't cheap. I wish I had the terabytes then that I have now. Wish it would work on forums I would finally have a reason to use this 64core 1tb memory server I got to something of importance.
